How to check KSEBL's official shutdown list
KSEB does not publish a list of planned shutdowns on its website that we could find. Its Know Your Outage page only tells you about one consumer number at a time. Inside the corporation's core area, the supplier is not KSEB but the Thrissur Corporation Electricity Department, which publishes no list either.
- Enter your consumer number and the image code on KSEB's Know Your Outage page, then press Find Status. KSEB Know Your Outage
- If the power is out, call KSEB on 1912, its 24x7 toll-free line, or message KSEB on WhatsApp at 9496001912.
- Or register the complaint on KSEB's web self-service site. KSEB complaint registration
- If your bill is from the Thrissur Corporation Electricity Department (TCED), which supplies a 12.65 sq km area of the city, call its hotline on 0487 2422950, message it on WhatsApp at 82818 82613, or register a complaint on its site. TCED complaint registration

Complaint not fixed? How to escalate
Every distribution licensee in India must run a Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum, and every state has an Electricity Ombudsman above it. Work up the ladder; keep your complaint number from step one.
- 1
KSEB section office / Assistant Engineer
Register on 1912 (press 11 for complaint registration with your 13-digit consumer number), WhatsApp 9496001912 or the web self-service portal; approach the section office if unresolved.
- 2
Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (CGRF), KSEBL
Three regional forums (Southern, Central, Northern); petition in Form-A within the time limit if the section office does not resolve it.
- 3
Electricity Ombudsman, Kerala
Appeal in Form-B to the Electricity Ombudsman, Near Gandhi Square, DH Road, Kochi 682016; phone 0484-2346488.

The WhatsApp number 9496001912 accepts complaints only (no voice calls or SMS). Caution for Thrissur: the area within Thrissur Corporation limits is reported to be served by a separate licensee, Thrissur Corporation Electricity Department, with KSEB serving the rest of the district; this split was not verified from an official page in this pass, so Thrissur is kept mapped to KSEB.
Why does the next street have power and you don't?
In most Indian cities your supply comes off a feeder shared with a few neighbouring areas. When a transformer overheats in summer, the discom often switches areas off in turn to let it cool — so your neighbour's lights come back while yours go out. Complaining moves the cut; it doesn't end it. Knowing this changes what you should do.
Common questions
Is there a power cut in Thrissur today?
The top of this page shows outages that residents of Thrissur reported in the last 24 hours, and any shutdown the electricity company has announced. No reports does not prove the supply is on. If your power is out, report it here and call KSEBL.
How do I check for a power cut in my area?
Look here for reports near you and for announced shutdowns, check your electricity company's app or website for planned maintenance, or call its helpline with your consumer number: they can tell you whether your feeder is down.
Why is there a power cut in my area today?
Usually one of three things: maintenance the company announced in advance, a fault on your feeder or transformer, or load shedding when demand is higher than supply. If the next street has power and you don't, you are probably on a different feeder.
Where do I complain about a power cut in Thrissur?
Call KSEBL on 0471-2555544, or dial 1912. Write down the complaint number they give you: if the supply isn't restored in time, that number is what you take to the CGRF.
