How to check KSEBL's official shutdown list
KSEB does not publish a public list of planned shutdowns. Instead, its Know Your Outage page tells you whether a scheduled outage affects one consumer number. So there is no official list we can show here, but you can check your own connection there.
- Open KSEB's Know Your Outage page. KSEB Know Your Outage
- Enter your consumer number from your bill, type the captcha and press Find Status. KSEB describes the page as the place to check whether any scheduled outage affects you.
- If the power is out, register a complaint on KSEB's website without logging in. KSEB complaint registration
- Or call 1912 (toll-free), or 0471-2555544 from outside Kerala. You can also use 94960 01912, which takes IVR calls and WhatsApp.
Steps read from the company's own pages on 2026-10-09.
Complaint not fixed? How to escalate
Every distribution licensee in India must run a Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum, and every state has an Electricity Ombudsman above it. Work up the ladder; keep your complaint number from step one.
- 1
KSEB section office / Assistant Engineer
Register on 1912 (press 11 for complaint registration with your 13-digit consumer number), WhatsApp 9496001912 or the web self-service portal; approach the section office if unresolved.
- 2
Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (CGRF), KSEBL
Three regional forums (Southern, Central, Northern); petition in Form-A within the time limit if the section office does not resolve it.
- 3
Electricity Ombudsman, Kerala
Appeal in Form-B to the Electricity Ombudsman, Near Gandhi Square, DH Road, Kochi 682016; phone 0484-2346488.

The WhatsApp number 9496001912 accepts complaints only (no voice calls or SMS). Caution for Thrissur: the area within Thrissur Corporation limits is reported to be served by a separate licensee, Thrissur Corporation Electricity Department, with KSEB serving the rest of the district; this split was not verified from an official page in this pass, so Thrissur is kept mapped to KSEB.
Why does the next street have power and you don't?
In most Indian cities your supply comes off a feeder shared with a few neighbouring areas. When a transformer overheats in summer, the discom often switches areas off in turn to let it cool — so your neighbour's lights come back while yours go out. Complaining moves the cut; it doesn't end it. Knowing this changes what you should do.
Common questions
Is there a power cut in Thiruvananthapuram today?
The top of this page shows outages that residents of Thiruvananthapuram reported in the last 24 hours, and any shutdown the electricity company has announced. No reports does not prove the supply is on. If your power is out, report it here and call KSEBL.
How do I check for a power cut in my area?
Look here for reports near you and for announced shutdowns, check your electricity company's app or website for planned maintenance, or call its helpline with your consumer number: they can tell you whether your feeder is down.
Why is there a power cut in my area today?
Usually one of three things: maintenance the company announced in advance, a fault on your feeder or transformer, or load shedding when demand is higher than supply. If the next street has power and you don't, you are probably on a different feeder.
Where do I complain about a power cut in Thiruvananthapuram?
Call KSEBL on 0471-2555544, or dial 1912. Write down the complaint number they give you: if the supply isn't restored in time, that number is what you take to the CGRF.
