Power Watch is a community-powered outage reporting platform. Citizens report power cuts; the map shows the bigger picture. No call centres, no bureaucracy — just real data from real people.
Why We Built This
Every Indian has experienced a power cut and had the same frustrated question: "Is it just us, or is the whole area affected?" There was no good answer. The 1912 helpline is voice-only and offers no feedback. Discom apps, where they exist, are siloed and slow.
Power Watch exists to fill that gap. When you report an outage, you're not just venting — you're adding a data point that helps your neighbours know what's happening, helps communities escalate faster, and over time builds the only independent, structured, real-time electricity reliability dataset for India.
The citizen-facing product is and always will be free. We believe outage data is a public good.
How It Works
Citizens Report
Anyone in India can report a power cut, voltage problem, or transformer issue in under 60 seconds — no account needed.
Data Clusters
Reports within 500m of each other merge into a single incident on the map. The severity score rises with each confirmation.
Community Sees
The live map updates in real time. Neighbours, RWAs, and anyone else can see what's happening in their area.
What Power Watch Is Not

- ✗A complaint redressal portal — we don't replace 1912 or your discom's helpdesk
- ✗Connected to the electricity grid — we have no access to SCADA or utility systems
- ✗A news service — we publish structured data, not editorial content
- ✗A paid service — the map and reporting are always free for citizens
