How to check MSEDCL (Mahavitaran)'s official shutdown list
MSEDCL does not publish a list of upcoming planned shutdowns that we could find. Its outage page is a feeder-by-feeder record of interruptions, behind an image code, and when we checked it showed only interruptions that were already over. We do not copy it, so check it there.
- Open MSEDCL's outage information page. It is listed on mahadiscom.in as Online Outage Information (Scheduled/Forced). MSEDCL feeder outage information
- Type the code shown in the image and press Login.
- Pick a From date and a To date, then Pune Zone and your circle: Ganeshkhind (U), Rastapeth (U) or Pune (R). Then pick your division and press Display Data. Each row gives the feeder, the start and end time of the interruption, and the reason.
- If the power is out, call 1912 or 19120, or MSEDCL's toll-free numbers 1800-233-3435 and 1800-212-3435.
- Or SMS NOPOWER followed by your 12-digit consumer number to 9930399303. If your mobile number is registered with MSEDCL, a missed call to 022-50897100 registers the complaint too. MSEDCL power failure complaints

Complaint not fixed? How to escalate
Every distribution licensee in India must run a Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum, and every state has an Electricity Ombudsman above it. Work up the ladder; keep your complaint number from step one.

Electricity Ombudsman (Mumbai or Nagpur), MERC
Representation within 60 days of the CGRF order. Mumbai Ombudsman (022-26592965) covers western Maharashtra, Konkan and Khandesh; Nagpur Ombudsman (0712-2596670) covers Vidarbha and Marathwada.

Bhiwandi moved from this discom to torrent-power (Torrent is MSEDCL's distribution franchisee for Bhiwandi circle, valid to Jan 2027). Thane: most of the city is MSEDCL, but Shil-Mumbra-Kalwa is run by franchisee Torrent Power (to Feb 2040). Mira-Bhayandar is largely in the AEML/Tata Power licence area; MSEDCL serves only parts. No official WhatsApp number was found on mahadiscom.in.
Why does the next street have power and you don't?
In most Indian cities your supply comes off a feeder shared with a few neighbouring areas. When a transformer overheats in summer, the discom often switches areas off in turn to let it cool — so your neighbour's lights come back while yours go out. Complaining moves the cut; it doesn't end it. Knowing this changes what you should do.
Common questions
What is the MSEDCL power cut complaint number in Pune?
Call 1912 or 19120, the national electricity complaint numbers, or MSEDCL's own toll-free lines 1800-233-3435 and 1800-212-3435. MSEDCL says these work from all landlines and mobiles. Keep your 12-digit consumer number, printed on your bill, ready when you call.
Where is the MSEDCL planned power cut list for Pune?
MSEDCL posts scheduled and forced outages on its Online Outage Information page at reshorttermc.mahadiscom.in/SolarDTC/feederOutage. Enter the captcha, pick your dates, choose Pune Zone and your circle (Ganeshkhind Urban, Rastapeth Urban or Pune Rural), then your division. Each row shows the feeder, the start and end time of the interruption, and the reason.
How do I report an MSEDCL light cut off by SMS?
Send NOPOWER, a space, and your 12-digit consumer number to 9930399303. You do not need to have registered your mobile number for this. The consumer number is printed on your MSEDCL electricity bill.
Can I register an MSEDCL power failure complaint with a missed call?
Yes, if your mobile number is registered with MSEDCL. Give a missed call to 022-50897100 and the complaint is logged against the consumer number linked to that mobile. If your number is not registered, MSEDCL sends an SMS asking you to register it by texting MREG with your 12-digit consumer number to 9930399303.
Who supplies electricity in Pune?
MSEDCL, the Maharashtra state distribution company also called Mahavitaran or Mahadiscom, supplies Pune city and Pimpri-Chinchwad. Its Pune Zone has three circles: Ganeshkhind Urban (Shivajinagar, Kothrud, Pimpri, Bhosari), Rastapeth Urban (Rastapeth, Parvati, Bund Garden, Nagar Road, Padmavati) and Pune Rural (Manchar, Rajgurunagar, Mulshi).
Is there an MSEDCL app to report a power cut in Pune?
Yes. MSEDCL's own Mahavitaran Consumer App has a Register and Track Complaint feature for power failure and billing complaints. You can follow the complaint's status in the same app.
How do I see how many power cuts my Pune area had?
MSEDCL publishes Weekly Outage Data on mahadiscom.in, division by division, with the number of feeder outages, their duration and supply hours per day. Pick a month and week, then find your Pune Zone division, such as Kothrud or Nagar Road. It is a record of past outages, not a schedule of coming ones.
Where do I complain if an MSEDCL complaint in Pune is not resolved?
Register it online on MSEDCL's Internal Complaint Redressal System at wss.mahadiscom.in/ICRS. If that does not fix it, file a grievance with MSEDCL's Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (CGRF) online. After the CGRF, you can approach the Electricity Ombudsman, Mumbai, whose area includes Pune district; phone 022-26592965.
Is there a power cut in Pune today?
The top of this page shows outages that residents of Pune reported in the last 24 hours, and any shutdown the electricity company has announced. No reports does not prove the supply is on. If your power is out, report it here and call MSEDCL (Mahavitaran).
How do I check for a power cut in my area?
Look here for reports near you and for announced shutdowns, check your electricity company's app or website for planned maintenance, or call its helpline with your consumer number: they can tell you whether your feeder is down.
Why is there a power cut in my area today?
Usually one of three things: maintenance the company announced in advance, a fault on your feeder or transformer, or load shedding when demand is higher than supply. If the next street has power and you don't, you are probably on a different feeder.
Where do I complain about a power cut in Pune?
Call MSEDCL (Mahavitaran) on 19120, or dial 1912. Write down the complaint number they give you: if the supply isn't restored in time, that number is what you take to the CGRF.
