BESCOM says that across its area, power is generally available 24/7 to every consumer category except farm pump sets. Its own load shedding log for 2026-27 records 12 events in April and July 2026, 32 hours 6 minutes in total, the longest 7 hours 27 minutes on 19 April and the latest on 16 July, all for low grid frequency. The log covers BESCOM's whole area, so it does not say which parts of Bangalore were hit. Most power cuts on any given day are maintenance work or local faults, so report yours on 1912.

Not on BESCOM's website. When we checked on 16 Oct 2026, its Planned Outages page held one file, the approved KPTCL line clear details for July 2026, and no daily list. BESCOM's Play Store listing says the BESCOM Mithra app shows scheduled and unscheduled power outages, so look there, or call 1912 and ask whether your area is under planned maintenance.

Call 1912 or use the BESCOM Mithra app to register a complaint, give your RR number or account ID, and note the complaint number. In urban areas, KERC's time limit is 6 hours for a fuse-off call or a line breakdown, 10 hours if a pole has broken and 24 hours for a failed transformer. If supply is not back within that time, call 1912 again, quote your complaint number and ask for it to be escalated.

KERC sets the limits BESCOM publishes. In urban areas, a fuse-off call or a line breakdown must be fixed within 6 hours, a broken pole within 10 hours and a failed transformer within 24 hours. Under BESCOM's escalation matrix, a fuse-off complaint in a city goes to the Assistant Engineer at 2 hours, the Assistant Executive Engineer at 4 hours and the Executive Engineer at 6 hours.

BESCOM has announced WhatsApp helplines before, but we could not confirm a current number on any official BESCOM page, so we do not print one. Yes. In a post on 3 May 2026, @NammaBESCOM asked consumers facing a power outage to send their RR number or account number and mobile number by direct message on BESCOM's X or Facebook page to register a complaint.

Go to BESCOM's Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (CGRF), which sits in each revenue district. File in writing on Form A, with no advocate and no court fee, and the forum must pass orders within 60 days. If you disagree with the order, appeal to the Electricity Ombudsman at KERC, Bengaluru, on Form B within 30 days of receiving it, and the Ombudsman must pass orders within two months.

The top of this page shows outages that residents of Bengaluru reported in the last 24 hours, and any shutdown the electricity company has announced. No reports does not prove the supply is on. If your power is out, report it here and call BESCOM.

Look here for reports near you and for announced shutdowns, check your electricity company's app or website for planned maintenance, or call its helpline with your consumer number: they can tell you whether your feeder is down.

Usually one of three things: maintenance the company announced in advance, a fault on your feeder or transformer, or load shedding when demand is higher than supply. If the next street has power and you don't, you are probably on a different feeder.

Call BESCOM on 1912, or dial 1912. Write down the complaint number they give you: if the supply isn't restored in time, that number is what you take to the CGRF.
