Complaint not fixed? How to escalate

Formerly Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TSSPDCL); the 'TS' prefix was changed to 'TG' in 2024. The App Store listing is still published under the seller name TSSPDCL. The TGERC website could not be opened during verification, so no regulator URL is given.
Regulator: Telangana Electricity Regulatory Commission (TGERC, formerly TSERC)
Why does the next street have power and you don't?
In most Indian cities your supply comes off a feeder shared with a few neighbouring areas. When a transformer overheats in summer, the discom often switches areas off in turn to let it cool — so your neighbour's lights come back while yours go out. Complaining moves the cut; it doesn't end it. Knowing this changes what you should do.
Common questions
What is the TSSPDCL (now TGSPDCL) power cut complaint number?
The number is 1912, TGSPDCL's 24x7 toll-free helpline for power faults and outages in Hyderabad. It is the same number that worked under the old TSSPDCL name. For non-urgent issues you can also email customerservice@tgsouthernpower.org.
How do I complain about a power cut in Hyderabad?
Call 1912, TGSPDCL's 24x7 toll-free helpline. Or file a No Power Complaint online at webportal.tgsouthernpower.org/NPC using your registered mobile number, or through the TGSPDCL Citizen app, which has a No Power Complaints option. You get a complaint reference number, and you can check its status on the same page.

Is there a power cut in Hyderabad today?
TGSPDCL's website has a Planned Outages page, but when we checked on 16 October 2026 it refused access, so it may not open for you. For cuts happening right now, check the Power Watch map for Hyderabad, where residents report outages as they happen. If your power is out, call 1912 and ask whether your area has a fault or planned maintenance.
How do I find planned power cuts in my area of Hyderabad?
Open TGSPDCL's website and choose Planned Outages from the menu; TGSPDCL's own site lists a reform requiring discoms to notify planned outages for maintenance and load shedding one month in advance. When we checked, that page refused access. TGSPDCL's official X account is @tgspdcl, linked from its website, and 1912 can tell you whether work is scheduled on your line.
Is TSSPDCL the same as TGSPDCL?
Yes. Telangana's Energy Department directed on 18 May 2024 that state power companies replace TS with TG in their names, so TSSPDCL became TGSPDCL. It is the same company, with the same 1912 helpline and the same consumer accounts. Its Android app is still published under a tsspdcl address.
What if TGSPDCL doesn't fix my power complaint?
First file the grievance at your Customer Service Centre, Integrated Customer Service Centre or section office and take an acknowledgement. If it is not resolved, go to TGSPDCL's Consumer Grievances Redressal Forum: CGRF-II covers Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Vikarabad. If you disagree with the CGRF order, you can appeal to the Vidyut Ombudsman, Telangana, within 45 days.

Which areas of Hyderabad does TGSPDCL supply?
TGSPDCL supplies 15 districts of southern Telangana, including Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri, which together cover the Hyderabad metro area. Its Hyderabad operation circles include Banjara Hills, Hyderabad Central, Hyderabad South, Secunderabad, Cybercity, Rajendranagar, Saroornagar, Medchal and Habsiguda. So whichever part of the city you are in, your power complaint goes to TGSPDCL on 1912.
How do I check for a power cut in my area?
Look here for reports near you and for announced shutdowns, check your electricity company's app or website for planned maintenance, or call its helpline with your consumer number: they can tell you whether your feeder is down.
Why is there a power cut in my area today?
Usually one of three things: maintenance the company announced in advance, a fault on your feeder or transformer, or load shedding when demand is higher than supply. If the next street has power and you don't, you are probably on a different feeder.
Where do I complain about a power cut in Hyderabad?
Call TGSPDCL on 1912, or dial 1912. Write down the complaint number they give you: if the supply isn't restored in time, that number is what you take to the CGRF.
