How to check MGVCL's official shutdown list

MGVCL publishes planned shutdowns and current faults feeder by feeder on its own site, for its whole area, as one long table. We do not copy it automatically, so check it there: it is the official list.

  1. Open MGVCL's Shutdown / Power Outages page. MGVCL power outages
  2. Search the page for "Vadodara" (Ctrl+F, or Find in page on a phone). Vadodara city feeders show "Vadodara (M Corp+OG)" in the Village Names column, so go by the subdivision (first column) and feeder name to find yours.
  3. Rows marked PSD are planned shutdowns. SF/ESD rows are faults and emergency shutdowns. Each row gives the start time and the estimated restore time.
  4. The MGVCL App, MGVCL's own app, lists power outage information and lets you register a no-power complaint.Android
  5. If your feeder is not listed and the power is out, call 19124 or 1800 233 2670, or say "Hi" on WhatsApp to 91840 12564.

Complaint not fixed? How to escalate

Every distribution licensee in India must run a Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum, and every state has an Electricity Ombudsman above it. Work up the ladder; keep your complaint number from step one.

If the supply was out longer than your state allows, the discom may owe you compensation. What you can claim, and how.

The toll-free number 1800-233-2670 was read from the official Panchmahal district administration site (panchmahals.nic.in), which lists it as the phone for Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Limited; kheda.nic.in lists only MGVCL division office landlines. Short-code 19124 (widely quoted) is NOT included because no official page showing it could be opened. MGVCL App verified on the official Play Store listing (developer Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Limited).

Why does the next street have power and you don't?

In most Indian cities your supply comes off a feeder shared with a few neighbouring areas. When a transformer overheats in summer, the discom often switches areas off in turn to let it cool — so your neighbour's lights come back while yours go out. Complaining moves the cut; it doesn't end it. Knowing this changes what you should do.
